Tnsly a festival of pioneering faim machinery technology. Now in its 44th consecutive year the "Ontario Steamn and Antique Preservers Association" welcome ail ages to corne and experience the attractions and demonstrations as Steamn-Era. Being a non-profit organization, the 600+ members of the OS&APA will again, this year, make the Milton District Hospital Foundation and the Hospital for Sick Childien in Toronto the recipient of their charitable efforts. The firai show was held on the Milton Fair Grounds in 1961 and has been an annual event for steam & antique enthusiasts traveling fromn far and wide to Milton every Labour Day weekend. For many years, Milton waa known as the steamn capi- tal of Ontario and for many enthusiasts that make this once a year trip it stili is! This year's show will open on Friday Sept 3rd and rua through Satsrday, Sunday and Labour Day Monday. There will be operating vintage Stearn engines that range from asmail models to massive 18-ton giants. Demonstrations of operator skill, threshing and log sawing will be ongoing. If steam power isn't your pref- erence, then why not check out the antique car display. stationary gas engines dating to die early 1900's or shop in the crafts building and the flea markcet with plenty of vendors for ail your desires. Kids activities include pedal tractor pulls and log saw- ing competitions. 'T'he "Junior Talent Contest" will take place Sasurday afternoon at 1 pmn on the second stage near the Robert Street entrance. (Registration is at 12 pmn and you must provide your own accompani- ment.) International Harvester equipment is featured at this years Steam-Era with a huge selection of vintage equipment to view and sec in operation. Entersainment beginning Friday night at 7:30 pmn will be "SE'TLERS CREEK" country western band. Saturday at 7:30 pmn is the ever popular 29t1s Annual Country Westemn talent contest. Sunday following thc Grande parade will be a mini tractor pull and at 7:30 pm bsck by popular demand will be Douglas Michael and Gary Carrol, "The Ncwfie Stump Jumpers" who will take the stage wîthW their down eass flavored pop country music. Don't forget the corn roasts every night dunng the entertainrnent. Closing thse performance each night will be the "Stearn Engine Night of Fie Spark Show". A unique opportunity to view and photograpis what you can't see in thse daylight! (Wind & weather per- mitting.) Daily admission to Steam-Era is only $600 on Friday for Adults and accompanied children under 12 are still free. Saturday, Sunday & Monday, adult admission is $700 and kids 12 & under are still free if accompa- nied. Weekend passes are $1500 and may be pur- chased Friday & Saturday. Kids weekend pass is only a dollar with an adult purchase. AIl admissions include the grandstand shows. Entrances are as both Thomas Street and Robert Street.
