"The area is quite a mess," said commit- tee member Harry Yates. "We have adopt- ed the name 'The Grove' for the area and have been cleaning it out and planting somne flowers that were donated to us. The commiîtee, formed in 2001, has tackled many projeets over the past fevw years including garbage dlean-up (espe- cially in the spring>, hedge tnimming along Campbell Avenue West, planting of sever- al gardens, maintenance of the Conservation Halton park, and almost any- thing else that will enhance *Campbellville's beauty. With no funding at aIl, the committee depends on the dedication, tools, and sup- *plies of its volunteers as well as any dlona- tions received. -We are basically a group of concemed citîzens that aim to keep Campbellville beautiful," said committee chair Ruth Hull. -We have six people on the commitiee tand about a dozen volunteers that we can always rely on to work on the projeets. There are about another dozen or SO that help on occasion. Many of these people also, provide tools or trucks to transport material when we need il." Mr. Yates said approximately 200 volun- teer hours have been spent over the past few years in the committee's initiatives but more volunteers are always welcome. Ms Hull said the support of councillors Cindy Lunau and Jan Mowbray have ruade the task easier, as has help from the Town of Milton's public works department.
