TRIECs goal is to, improve immigrants' access tc> empînyment in the Toronto region so, they cao put their skills, experi- ence and education to work locally. Elizabeth Mclsaac, TRIEC project man- ager, said the organization works with employers so they cao better understand how to, work well with immigrant employ- ees and use the skills they bring to the table. "Immigrants who are coming to Canada are more highly educated and skilîed than ever before in the history of immigration in Canada," she said. She added that many immigrants are eas- ily dismissed because they don't have Canadian experience. "That doesn't mean they're not skilled," she said. "Il's worth taking a second look at to see what you might be missing." Melanie Hennesaey can be reached at nî/îennesse.v(@-nîîltonc anadîandîhampîon.co ni.
