One of the major projects identified in the Master Plan review was the expansion of the Mid-Halton Sewage Treatmenf Plant (STP), located on the North Service Road between Bronte Road and Third Line in Oakvîlle, and servicing residents and businesses located in the northemn portion of Oakville and Milton. The Mid-Haiton Plant exceeds sewage treatment standards set by the Ministry of the Environmenf before the treated effluent enters Lake Onfario. Mid-Halton Sewage Treatment Plant SOUTH SERVICE RD UEEN ELZAETH TiSRî~ R The Regmon is following the required Class Environmental Assessment (EA> process f0 plan for the Mid-Halton STP expansion from ifs existing capacîty of 50,000 cubic meters per day fo a capacity of 75,000 cubic meters per day. This process involves a thorough revîew of alternative ways fa expand the plant, f0 establish a preferred design concept that will meet ail treatment goals and achieve the desired balance between community, environmental, and operational objectives. An important component of this study involves consultation with inferested stakeholders (public and regulatory agencies). Two public meetings were held as part of the Master Plan, and two additional meetings are included in the Class EA process. The Projeot Team will also provide information on how issues of particular importance f0 the community, such as the potential for odour and protection of water quality, will be addressed in the expansion.
