The third annual charity auction will be held June 18 at 7 p.m. at the [laIton Region Museum, at Kelso Conservation Area. The event includes both silent and live auctions. "Whether people enjoy food and wine, art, gardening, birding or other outdoor pursuits, there are items Io suit al tastes," said Brian Hobbs, director of development. Included in the list of auction items is the Wheelbarrow of Wine, featuring wine from around the world, plus nature art and cottage getaways. Proceeds from the Summer Solstice Auction will go toward the expansion and renovation of the Visitors Centre at Mountsberg Conservation Area in Caniphelîville. It's renowned for its maple syrup, birds of prey and wide open spaces. "Over 50,000 people come to Mountsberg every year and use the centre as a launch point for learning about nature in our watershed and enjoying our beauti- fui park," said John Riddell, Mountsberg manager. He said the expanded centre will help provide a higher quality experience for vis- itors and will mean more people can par- ticipate in the prograins. The foundation is a volunteer charitable organization that raises funds for Conservation Halton, the environjnentaj agency that conserves natural areas in its watershed. Tickets for tIhe Summer Solstice charity auction cost $40 and are available fromn the Conservation Halton Foundation at (905) 336-1158, ext. 255.
