C ,Aý9V 4 Four from in' the Milton- Nassagaweya area died on the saine day, April 23, 1915. The oldest was 35 and the youngest was 22. Among them was Capt. Alfred C. Bastedo, who led the first volunteers from <bis area. Stanley Adamson, 26, died on the Western front in Northem France; Alfred Bastedo, 29, died in the Battle of Langemarck, Belgium; Wm. Lees, 22, was killed at Ypres, Belgium; and W. Slack, 35, died in the second Battle of Ypres. The Champion, Milton Historical Society and Royal Canadian Legion are co-operating in the search as part of a 4'remnembering project" for photoa of the 70 men lisled on the cenotapbs at Victoria Park in Milton and Haltonville in Nassagaweya. Details of their war careers bas been compiled from officiai records but pictures are needIed to re-introduce <hem to, current and future generations. Photos, wbicb are loaned, will be scanned and the originals returned unles the lenders prefer <bat tbe originals be kept by the Milton Histonical Society Archives, Legion Hall of Remembrance or Hatton Region Museum Archives.
