'he auction octed as an integral part of the United Way's 2003 Campaign, gerterat- ing $15,000 in support of local community service agencies. The dinner auction drew reoidents to Granite Ridge Golf Club's banquet hall for an evening of Mardi Gras-themed spien- dour. The evening featured dininer and live music from Milton District High School otudento and John McDonald and Friendo. The highlight of thse evening was the suc- tion segment. Participants scramhled to outbid each other for items such as a trip to the Dominican Repuhlic and a visit with a Shamanic Astrologer. All the auction treasures were gencrous donations from individuals and local husi- nessso. Barbara Starr, dinner auction committee chair, said ohe was "proud of the contribu- tion the fundraiser made to the United Way's 2003 Campaign."
