Matt Smith, a 19-year-old Oakville resident who represented thse Green Party locally, was happy to see support for bis party grow from 806 votes (or 1.4 per cent of the vote) in 1999 to 1,295 votes (or 1.9 per cent). "I feel pretty gond for running a campaign without a single sign on thse road," said Mr. Smith. He added he's alan a student and ran the campaign on bis own. 'Ive gotten so many e-mails and 1 thlnk the Green Party has grown an much." He said many people told hlm they would vote for hlm and they wanted thse PCs out of office. Giuseppe Gori of the Family Coalition Party said he was quite pleased with bis party's showlng in Halton aa welI aa across tise province. "The important thing is we had more candidates and we had more votes," said Mr. Gon, the party's Halton candidate and leader of the FCP of Ontario. "The important thing for us is to grnw." Mr. Gori eamed 1, 124 votes, or 1.6 per cent of thse vote, in Halton yesterday compared to 755 votes, or 1.38 per cent, ini 1999.
