Famed as being the greatest escape aa-tist who ever lived, that masterful magician was probably a better locksmith than he was a magîcian. He had a standing chal- lenge that he could get out of any locked jail in sixty minutes, providing they would let bim enter in bis regular street clothes and flot watcb bimn work. A littie town in thse British Isies decided to challenge (and perhaps embarrass) the great Houdini. This town had just complet- ed an escape-proof jail, and so thse towns- folk invited Houdini to corne to see if he could break out. He accepted the challenge. He was allowed f0 enter the jail in his streef clothes. People say they saw the locksmith turn the lock some strange way, and then with a clang of steel, everybody turned their backs and lefi him alone to work. Houdini had hidden a long flexible steel rod in his beit, which is what he used to try ro trip the lock. He worked for thirty minutes. He kepi his ear close to the lock - forty-five minutes, and then an hour passed; he was perspiring. After two hours, he was exhausted. He leaned against the door, and f0 his amaze- ment, if felI open. They had neyer locked the door! Jr was their trick on the great escape art istl The door was locked only in Houdini's mind. That's tbe only place it was locked! Some of you think that you can't overcome your problem. Often, the only place where it is impossible is in your mind or in your thinking - tbat's thse oîy thing that's locked! To discover bow you can open t-s door of faitb and possibility in your mi, and 10 understand thse benefits of a relationship with God, visit a local church Ibis week.
