In Ontario Court (superior division) in Milton, Douglas Stokes, 20, admitted to killing Mi-. Parrott on August 31, 2001 near tbe train tracks beblind tbe Milton Curling Club on Miliside Drive. Crown attorney Laurie Jago told the court tbat tbe body of Mr. Parrott, 53, was found Iying face down by a Milton mais out walldng his dog at about 6:30 a.m. The man walked to tbe Royal LePage office on Main Street and asked a cab driv- er to cail police, Ms Jago said. Two days biter, Halton Regional Police arrested Mr. Stokes in St. Catbarines, sbe said. Court beard that Mr. Stokes bad been at the Knigbt Cap on Main Street baving drinks and playing pool. After strildng up a conversation witb a woman and unsuccessfully trying to obtain some marijuana, tbe pair went to The Ivy Ai-ms on Main Street before returning to tbe Knigbt Cap. After visiting a friend's apartment and buying five ecstasy pills, Mr-. Stokes told a witness he waa gomng to bis bossas bouse on Broadway Avenue to pick up bis pay so he could buy cocaine. Court beard tbat a bai-tender said Mr-. Parrott had also been at tbe Knigbt Cap tbat night, but tbat he didn't see any interaction betwecn bin and Mr. Stokes.
