I dont understand it, and I doubt 1 ever will. Art connoisseurs will shake their heads at my ignorance, but bow come paintings of people with distorted heads are so valu- able? Why are different coloured splotches on a piece of canvas con- sidered art at al? And if its abstract art, how are we supposed to deduce a meariing out of it when its very definition suggests the meaning isn't visible. And in addition to that, why does art have to have a meaning in the first place? 1 really do thînk that toddlers could do some of the things I've seen on some walls. And did you ever notice that the weirdest stuff is always on the walls of off ice or public buildings and flot in peo- ple's homes? Why is that?
