The clubs $500000 construction is nearing completion at its new location at the much-anticipated Community Park, located at the corner of Commercial Street and Derry Road. The new tennis club- currently located on Childs Drive with six courts- will have a total of eight courts. The Community Park will house a new twin pad arena, which is expected to open this faîl. The tennis club will be the first activity to open on the new site. Councillors at the community services committee meeting May 12 were updated on the tennis clubs progress, and also passed a bylaw ta, authorize the Town to create a lease agreement with the Milton Tennis Club. Thc reason for the delay in genting everything finished is an unco-operative Mother Nature. said Jennifer Reynolds, Milton's commnnity services commisstoner. Rainy weather has made it impossible for Town crews to finish layering the surface of the courts. Also, wet weather bas softened the ground and made it difficult for heavy machinery to instal a support heamn around the area. The intent is to have the beam in case the club decides to, put a hubble over the courts.
