On April 23. Junior Achievement of Halton presented its Economtcs of Staying in School (ESIS) prograrn as part of a one- day blitz throughout Halton, Peel. Toronto and Durham regions. TD Bank Financtal Group sponsored and provided volunteers for programs that eached thousands of students. "ESIS is an extremely interactive programn that uses a gaine of success to give students a look at the impact that decisions about staying n school can have on their future,- said Sue Suess, presi- dent of Junior Achievement of I-lton. "As aduits, we know that the level of schooIing students reach wilI have a strong impact on their future choices and lifestyles, but at grade eight, many students can't appreciate that.- Junior Achievement of Halton prograins are funded by business- es such as TD Bank and are presented free to sehools by business volunteers who bring their experience to the class. Junior Achievement also provides programs introducing busi- ness and economie concepts to students from grades 5 to 7 and offers high sehool students an after-sehool prograrn that shlows them to set up and mun their own businesses.
