The awards - started by the Royal Canadian Legion in Milton - recognized citizens of thse year, as they do today, but that was about it. When thse Milton Chamber of Commerce took over the awards in 1981, various business case- gories were added, mncluding two Business of thse Year awards. "We felt it was more focused to the cbangmng community," said Sandy Martin, executive direc- tor of thse Milton Chamber of Commerce. Ts year, there are three nominees for the Business of thse Year with 25 employees and less category: M. Putzer Homby Nursery, Prothane Liiied and Taylor Nursery/Lawton Landscaping. "We bave a good reputation and ges lots of refer- rais," sad Maureen Flight, Protbane's vice presi- dent and one of thse owners. "We'll try almost any- ting in polyuretbane."
