Regional Hospital Infrastructure Plan for Halton and Peel On Tuesday, January 28, 2003, the Halton-Peel District Heaith Council (HPDHC), reieased their detaiied report A Regional Hospital Infrastructure Plan for Halton and Peel. The Report makes recommendations for the future deveiopment of ail hospi- tais in the Haiton and Peel Regions. For Halton Healthcare Services, the report recommends expanding the existing Milton District Hospital (MON) site by more than 100% into a full service urban community hospital and building a new and espanded hospital in north Oakviiie to replace the existing Oakvilie Trafaigar-Memnoria Hospital (OTMH). The HHS Board of Directors supports the Haiton-Peel District Heaith Council s recommendations and wtil be working with various levels of govemment to secure approvais and determine the processes for moving these expansion plans forward. The resufts of the Report Were reieased in January by the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and Ministry of Heaith and Long- Terni Care (MOHLTC). The overal opinion indicator measures a patient s per- ception of their hospitai stay and whether they wouid retum to or recommend the hospitai. The Acute Care Report provides hospitai specific baianced scorecards mhat examine four equaly important areas of hospitai perorance... patient care, finances, patient satisfaction and how weil hospitals are prepaning formte future.
