Chief Algar said retiremnents expected over the next 12 months should increase the need to hire more rank-and-file officers for Use service. "There are a number of (officers) who are eligible so (retire). That certainly has the potential to have a major impact on us. Obviously our recruitment issues are gomng to have to remain a priority.' Within the hiring initiative, said Use chief, wiII he a push to encour- age an mncreased number of visible minorities applysng for pohicmg jobs.
