LONDON r I Megan Cavon Sleph Creighton MILTON DISTRICT BIe SCIOOL "MUSTANG MESSENGER" WAHOO! It's the moment you've al been waiting for. Christmas break is finally here. It will be a well-deserved vacation for the hardworking students of MDHS. Students were dismissed from classes today at two p.m. We hope that you have already done your Christmas shopping because the malts have been extremely busy. Statistics show that the 20th (today) is the busiest shopping day of the year! Hopefully you didn't leave it to the last minute like us! There are no in school activities during the break but many of our MD students will be taking a New Year's Eve trip to Montreal along with the other schools in Milton. Everyone seems excited about the trip. We hope that you al enjoy a safe, fun and festive time. Hopefully ail of the students will be rested up for January 6th, because that's when we come back to school! Speaking of school, make sure to check the exam schedule for conflicts when you retum, if not before. The break is a time for relaxation, but remembr, exams are just around the corner. They start on the 23rd of January and continue until the 29th. The time for exams is not here yet though. Now is defi- nitely a time to party and celebrate. We should especially cel- ebrate our senior boy's basketball teams who go 3 to nothing. From the Mustang Sport's Central we have heard that they defeated BR 53 to 30, despite missing two starters. Now that's an accomplishment. Hopefully they can carry that win- ning streak over the New Year. They will be participating in a New Year's toumament in London, January 2nd to 3rd and then they will play Iroquois Ridge at home on January 8th. Get your friends together and go support the team. They just need that win to be first place over all! Other sports teams that have been seen practising around the school are the volleyball and badminton teams. The swim team bas been under the water a few times, and the girl's hockey team is still giving it their best. Al of these athletes will also receive a relaxing time off from their physical exer- tions this week. So, enjoy the time off, send us a comment at MDHSNews@hotmail.com, and have, at the risk of being offensive, a very Merry Crhistmas! Jenna Masciantonio Meredith Murphy BISHOP REDINGB ie SCHOOL 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through BR Not a student was stirring, not even the school car; The lockers were closed tightly down the hallways with care, In hope that early dismissal soon would be there; The students were al crammed, al quiet in class, While they stared ai the clock hoping the time would soon pass; When out in the piazza there arose such a clatter, Mr. Jurus was able to see and needed no ladder. Away to the office he flew in a flash, To report Mr. Quinlin was nothing but mash. The students were in danger with cues to solve, This past week the murderous facts did eventually evolve. When, what to the student's wondering eyes did appear, The murderer was captured, accused and certainly not cleared. Christmas is almost here, And the halls filled with cheer. A sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too Rich Demille was indeed Saint Nick, and the students had no chue. Then in an instant we heard down the hall, Rich had no doubt run smack into a wall. He was dressed in fur, and al the while No one bothered to tell him he looked terribly out of style. Finally the BR school bell rang, Mr. Brandreth dropped his tools with an echoing clang. Students and teachers alike dashed home. For Christmas break should never be spent alone. We heard Student government and crew then exclaim, although out of sight, "Merry Christmas to all, and to al a good-night." 1 1 yEARt 4.10%* 3 YEARt 4.75%* 5 YEAR 5.45%* *O.A.C.~ ~ 000l RAEMSBET ,OCHNE DATELINE DRURY Julianna Clarke Sara Grimbly Jordan Lumb On the first day of Christmas, Drury gave to me...
