Police, Canadian Tire -kick off Christmas toy collection By FANNIE SUNSHINE The Champion The holidays can be a depressmng time of year for those who cant afford to have presents under the tree. But thaniks to the Halton Regional Polices Toys for Tots programn, Christmas might be more joyous for needy families this year. Halton Regional Police, ini part- nership with the Salvation Army and Canadian Tire, kickcd off the third anmual Toys for Tots programi Wednesday at Canadian Tire on Market Drive. The programn wll also min in Oakville, Burligton and Halton His. The initiative wiIl officially begin tomorrow and end around Christmas. Individuals are asked to drop off cash donations at Canadian Tire locations, which will use the money to purchase toys from thc store.
