The succesaful candidate wil be part of a dynamic teain that reviews documents submitted i sup- port of Building Permit Applications for ail building types, to establish compliance with thse Ontario Building Code and ail other applicable Acta and Standards. Major Job Responibiities include: Review drawings, specifications, technical reports for compliance with the Ontario Building Code, Municipal By-Iaws and all other applicable Acta and Standards; Communicate requirements that have flot been fulfilled to applicants, baths ver- bally and in writing; Research and provide writen/oral interpretations of the requirements of the Ontario Building Code Act and Regulationa under the direction of the Chief Building Officiai; Provide front line customer service by reaponding to general Code requirementa at couniter and by telephone; Assist in the procesaing of building permit applications through use of the AMANDA information tracking database; Maintain accurate records; Other related duties as assigned. hIe ideal candidatewilpoasess a univeraity degree in Civil EngineeringArchitectur or be a Certified Engineering/Architectural Tecbnologist with 3 -6 yeats of design, review or con- struction management experience. Detailed knuwledge of Parts 2, 3,9, 10 & 11 and working knowledge of Parts 4, 6, 7 & 8 of thse Ontario Building Code is required. Preference will be given to applicants designated or eligible for designation as a Certifled Building Code OfficiaI (CBCO). The succesaful candidate wiil have strong interpersonal and communication akilla, good report writing and record keeping akilla, thorough theoretical and practical knowledge in the design and analysis of building structures, and computer literacy alîs.
