Tbe projeet, started by an Arizona woman eigbt years ago, must exprcss global unity. -l received a beautiful painting from a 17-year-old girl in Taiwan," said Ms Kiddle, adding sbe's taken p art in the project for six years. "The painting is of tbe J Eartb witb two feathers floating around in tbe cosmos. I sent her my painting of Afgbanistan." We received a quiît made out of paper from the kindergarten class. It's hanging in the ballway at the school." After reading the story about the Global Art Project in The Champion in February, Ms Cottrell-Raby said she decided to take part in the exehange. For her art piece, she knitted a cupped hand witb six stones sewed into tbe palm and placed a piece of crys- taI on top of the stones. In exebange, she received a cactus from a woman in Arizona witb several pbotos hanging from the plant, wbicb were of a bandprint, a new bom baby, a boy reading and tbe desert. Tbere's also a banner on tbe side of tbe cactus and a windcbime near the top. Ive found tbis absolutely incredible," sbe said. "I'm toucbed beyond words. Its a wonderful tbing to be part of. New cookbook helping seniors A new cook book is belping tbe Milton Seniors Activity Centre to meet tbe needs of local seniors. Tbe book- dubbed -Timeless Treasures" - is a collection of 300 recipes submitted by local seniors. Recipes include appetilers, salads, soups, main dishes and deserts. Funds raised tbrougb tbe sale of tbe book will be used for the betterment of seniors' activities. Copies of "Timeless Treasures" cost $8 and are available at tbe Milton Seniors Activity Centre (500 Cbilds Dr.) or by calling Maisie MacKay at (905) 878- 5133. Tbe book will also be for sale at tbe Milton Farmers' Market tomorrow. -- - 1
