"The main concemr is that farm- mng, as an occupation in the rural areas, is in an economic critis," explained Ho Wong, acting direc- 10e of planning and transportation for the region. We certainly don't want 10 bave industrial subdivi- sions out there -thaï's not our intention," said Mr. Wong, adding he would reserve further commnent until after the report for counicil is complete. "We are working with the farm- ing community 10 look at that par- ticular issue. This is stili in progreas - we're sti11 working on the details." Once the report reaches regional council, the issue will be open for discussion - in addition to a pub- lic consultation period. The Region will alto seek endorsement of any changes to the Officiai Plan from Milton town council prior ils passing.
