Obituarv vLocal farmer, agricultural activist dies of stroke at 63 By RICHARD VIVIAN The Champion Well-known Milton farmer and agricultural activist Ed Segsworth, 63, passed away Wednesday fol- lowing complications from a stroke. "He will certainly be sorely missed," said Harry Brander, friend and fellow member of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA). "He was veiy dedicated 10 the farming community and a well respected person." Holiday season fundraisers for hospital are ready to roll -.- -'~,- Milton District Hospital (MDH) is getting the snowball rolling for the holiday season with a pair of festive fundraisers. Now in its 111th year, the Buy a Bulb for the Hospital campaign is in full swing. With the donation of $ 10 su $49, you cas light up a bulb on a special tree outside the hospi- tal. Donors will also receive an acrylic star-shaped ornament. For a contribution between $50 and $149, you cas light up a small sting of lights on the tree and receive a gold-coloured bell shaped omnament. Donations of $150 or more will light up a large string of lights. Contributors in this range will also receive a limited edition omnament. The glass ball omnament depicts the eleven pipers piping fromi the song 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. Proceeds will be used to pur- chase new equipment throughout the hospital. The second fundraiser will kick off December t, with the sale of Christmas trees as 6607 First Line (about a kilometre south of the hos- pitl).
