The most common term used is "museum quality customn framing." This of course means that 100% of the products used for framing should be "Acid Free." So you've bought yourself a Limited Edition Print. WVhether ifs a Robert Bateman, Trisha Romance, or a Wm Biddle, you want to protect your investment by framing it correctly. Regular mats and backing contain acid, which over time will discolour your prints; - destroying their value. Here are some things to watch for when choosmng a framer: 1. Always use acid free mats which can be recognized by their pure white beveled edges. 2. Your prints should be hinged on cor- ners. 3. Avoid taping - this way your print stays in ifs original condition. 4. Print should be backed with acid free foam core. Corrugated c ard bo ard contains acid. To test your framing for cardboard run your finger over the back, if there are- ridges, chances are your prmnt is backed with c ard bo ard. Quality framing should be considered for Fine Art Originals, Limited Edition Prints Valuable Documents, Photographs and Heirloom Needie Art.
