Meet Exhibitors offening products By RICHARD Vil/IAN The Champion Former Milton resident and police offi- cer Ian McNally leaves behind a Iegacy of compassion and humour following his death this week, say friends. "We were saddened to bear of it. He was still young," said Halton Regional Police Chief Ean Algar, who worked witb Mr. McNaIly during his 26-year career witb the force. "When you worked with the cbap, you always had a sense that he cared about the community. He always treated people fair- ly and it didn't matter wbether you were the perpetrator or the victim. I-e was very concemed about people." Mr. McNally, 60, died Monday after tuf- fering an apparent heart attack while trav- elling in the United States. He's survived by wife Nancy, sons Neil and Mike, daugh- ter Annette Rankin, and two grandcbildren. "He was just a great guy, a lot of fun," reminisced Roy Smith, a friend and former co-worker. "He was very witty. He could deliver a great comeback witb ligbtning speed. If you were on the brunt end of bis joke, he could get you quick. 0f course, it was alWays just a fun little jab." Ian MeNally became a bylaw enforcement officer late in his career. Mr. McNally retired from Halton Regional Police in 1994, accepting the position of bylaw enforcement officer with tbe Town of Milton. Five years later, be retired from tbat position and moved to Campbeîlford, near Peterborough, with bit wife. Town council honoured Mr. McNally's passing witb a moment of silence at tbe opening of Monday's council meeting. The funeral will be beld today at I-oly Rosary Cburcb on Martin Street at 10 a.m. Intemment follows at Evergreen Cemetery. Family members have asked for expres- sions of sympatby be made in tbe form of a donation to the I-eart and Stroke Foundation. Reg. 459/00). You are invited if you are a private owner or operator of a communal water system that: " supplies drinking water to six or more residences; Qr " supplies 50,000 or more litres of drinking water to the public on any day, and has the capacity to supply 250,000 or more litres per day. Note that these meetings do not apply to municipally-owned or operated water systems. The ministry wishes to hear from communal systems about testing procedures, disinfection methods, reporting and other 0. Reg. 459/00 requirements.
