Community activist and friend to many, Eric Elson, 37, of Milton died Sunday after being thrown fromn his motorcycle on Hwy. 37, near Carlington. Mr. Elson collided with another motor- cycle, and after falling to the ground, was mun over by a third motorcycle. Friend of 25 years, Roger Parsons, was with Mr. Elson and other fniends when thse tragic accident occurred. I was at the front of thse pack (of seven motorcycles) and I didn't realize anybody wasmrissing until I looked in my mirrors and 1 noiced there were only four of us," he said. "We were pulled over and waiting for themn when somebody in a car pulled up and told us tbeoe had been an accident and we should get back there. "Motorists were helping hlm as best they could," he said, adding that police and ambulances were quick to arrive. Mr. Elson was an active participant in local sports, as well as thse Friends of E.C. Drury Park, a group that fought hard against a local housing development on lands residents had corne to know as a park. "We lost a friend on Sunday," said Mcl Cutler, a fellow Friends of E.C. Drury Park member. "We will sadly miss Eric. He was a great guy. I think the communi- ty is indebted to him (for bis ment)."
