The Milton Community Fund was launched via a public information evening held March 22 at the Milton Senior's Centre. Staff provided a presentation on community growth as it related to commu- nity organizations anmd also provided an overview of the fund and application guidelines. The application must be accompanied by an organization check list which includes a list of executive officers including names, addresses and telephone numbers, minutes of the organization's last annual general meeting, financial statements for the two previous years simd an operating budget for the current year. Non-profit corporations must submit a copy of patent letters and a current certifs- cate of status from the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations. Organizations who aren't incorporated must submit a membership list sid a copy of the constitution and/or organization by- laws. Activities funded by another level of govemment, religious or political activi- ties, debt retirement, depreciation or deficit funding, universities, colleges, tchools or hospitals are restricted from receiving grants through the Community Fund. Categories were given guidelines in the amount of $10,000 for organization effec- tivenesti grants, $25,000 for projeet grants, $10,000 for community event grants and $ 1,000 for individual grants. Al applicants will be notified of the sta- tus of their application, including method of distributing funds by the end of the month. Applicants who were unsuccessful in obtaining funding will receive written feedback.
