That message was delivered by a Milton Lafarge representative - who wished to remain anonymous - in response to, recent speculation over sabotage againat the ready-mix concrete giant. The notion that a turf war exista was cre- ated in the media, he said - adding, "Probably in the minda of reportera (it exista). Those terms were definitely flot used by people in the industry." Those comments come on the heels of reporta of re-occurring arson and vandal- ism at Lafarge and other area ready-mix concrete manufacturera. The acta have prompted ajoint investiga- tion hy members of Halton, York and Metro police. Thse Milton Lafarge plant was vandalized March 12, when two cement trucks were torched and 12 others were damaged in the attempt to aet them ablaze. A conveyer beit waa also damaged in the incident, cauaing the plant to cesse operationa for the day. Total damages are estimated at $400.000. Since the incident, Lafarge bas beefed up security around the plant. ROTARY PARK The Town of Milton is preparing a master plan for Rotary Park to provide a framework for future improvements to the park.
