O:AI(NfI LIE (905) 845-6601 NOTICE 0F STUDY COMPLETION Fourth Line/Glenorchy Environmental Assessment Study In order to address traffic operational and safety concerns, the Town of Oakville Proposes to permanently close Fourth LUne at East Sixteen Mile Creek to vehicular traffic and retain the -existing roadway for recreational uses. Following the compleýtion and openmng of Highway 407, there is likely to be an increased vehicle demand on the Fourth Une Valley crossing that would have an impact on the safe operation of the road. Within several years, thse growth in Fourth Uine vehicle demand will be accommodated to the James Snow Parkway Extension to be completed across the valley in accordance with the Environmental Asscssment Report, approved in 1999. In the interim period before that roadway is completed, the safe operation of Fourth Uine through thse Glenorchy area is a concern. The study area is shown on the key plan below. Thse study is being carried out as a Class Envirorimental Assessment following tise requirements of the Ontario Environmental Asscssment Act, RS.O. 1997. A public information centre was held on March 6, 2001 to review the alternative improvements for consideration, analysis and evaluation of the alternatives and the technically preferred alternative. Subject to comments received as a result of this notice, and the receipt of necessary approvals, tise town intends to permanently close Fouth Line in 2001.
