The vacant woaden trame dwelling - adjacent to the out- house where 77-year-old Fred Sheppard was shot to death hy his granddaughter's boyfriend in March, 1995 - was fully engullèd with [lames when firefighters arrived shortly aller 4:30 a.m. It took a couple of hours to extin- guish the blaze and the house was bumned to the ground. "WVith the home being vacant for several years the circumstances (of the tire) are certainly question- able," said Milton Fire Department spokesman Captain Mark Cross. The house, which was sold by relatives of the Sheppard family following the murder victim's death but wasn't occupied, had previously been a target of vandals.
