"Whether you enjoy the sounds of the big band swing, Nat King Cole or the 'King', you won't want to miss a sin- gle performance." Juno nominee Kory Livingstone wiIl start the series Saturday when his trio wiIl stage a tribute to Nat King Cole. Then TVB Productions wiIl bringa its interna- tionally-acclaîmed presentation of 'The Way It Was' September 15. Stephen Kabakos, an interna- tional award-winning artist, wiIl present Elvis' Ctri- ttt OII ll u Il urI stuio through to the ariny, iovie and explosive conceil years in a tribute to the king of rock 'n' roll. The senies wiII wrap up October 20 with a per- formance by the Whitney Smith Big Steam Band. The I 7-piece band is in the style of the great Basie and Ellington bands of the '50s and '60s. The sound is solid swînging jazz mixed in with some hot Latin and sultry rhythm 'n' blues - a spicy combination that give the Big Steam Band its unique crossover sound. Each show wiII begin at 8 p.m. Scotch Block Country Winery wilI host wine tasting of its award-winning fruit wines an hour cent to the John Elliott Theatre. A portion of the proceeds wiIl be donated to the Halton Museum Foundation to support its on- going work. Tickets for each performance cost $23 for aduits and $20 for seniors.
