A 45-year-old Guelph man faces a weapons charge in connection with an inci- dent on Hwy. 25 April 28. Police came upon a man wearing a wig and women's clothing walking along the side of the road at about 3:29 a.m. The man was confronted and found to be in possession of a large hunting knife. He was charged with concealing a dan- gerous weapon and will appear in Ontario j Court (provincial division) in Milton May 24. Rural drug bust A 24-year-old Mississauga man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after police stopped a vehicle parked at Sixteen Mile Creek - at Lower Base Line and Sixth Line - and confiscat- ed Il grams of marijuana April 30. The arrest occurred at 9:15 p.m. Impaired driver Police charged a 34-year-Milton man April 22 when they found a motorist asleep behind the wheel of a 1997 Ford pick-up truck with the key in the ignition. The truck was parked outside an Ontario Street and Derry Road plaza parking lot at about 9: 15 p.m. The suspect was charged with care and control of a vehicle while intoxicated and will appear in Ontario Court (provincial division) in Milton May 24. Vehicle torched A 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier was found fully engulfed in flames at the side of Tremaine Road April 25. The vehicle, discovered at 2:20 a.m., had been stolen just a few hours earlier trom a Mississauga residence and was completely destroyed when discovered by police. The car was valued at beiwecn $8000 and $9.000. Cancer box swiped A Canadian Cancer Society charity box was stolen from Gnos Pizza on the niom- ing of'April 28, police report. Light pole destroyed A $ 10,000 light pale on Guelph Line was destrayed when it was knocked over by a tractor trailer at about 8:50 p.m. April 27. The vehicle backed into the light pale and then sped off. Fairgrounds vandalized About $8000 worth ai damage was caused at the Milton Fair Grounds April 29. Police discovered nearly two dozen grandstand windows smashed as well as a number ai spot and street lights destroyed at about 10Op.m. Vehicle recovered A 1995 Dodge Neon stolen from Mississauga was discovered on Main Street Apri 125. The vehicle's ignition was punched out, but was otherwise undamaged.
