The Canadian Champion, Friday, May 4, 2001-27 MDH Foundation Update Have fun and support your com- munity hospital... The Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF) is hosting several events to raise money for the Hospital in the next couple months. On Sunday, May 27th the popular Hike for Health -takes place. This fun-filled day includes a choice of a 4 km or 6 km walk, 10 km run or 10 km inline skate event. Prizes will be awarded based on the amount of pledges collected by individual partici- pants. The participant collecting the most pledge money will win a mountain bike. Other prizes include a DVD Player (participants collecting $1000 or more of pledges), inline skates (partici- pants collecting more than $700 in pledges), a cordless phone (more than $500) and more! On Friday, June 29th the Milton Lawn Bowling Club will attempt to break the world outdoor bowls record. Starting Friday, June 29th at 6:00p.m., six members of the club will attempt to bowl for 24 hours. Participants will be collecting pledges and all money raised will be donated to the Hospital. The event includes a barbecue and live music. Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd are "Fun Days" at Executive Fairways golf course. Executive Fairways offers a nine-hole golf course Halton Healthcare and a mini golf course. A donation to the Hospital will be made from profits made on these days. To make a donation to the Milton District Hospital: The MDH Foundation is responsible for generating and administering all charitable gifts to the Hospital. Money raised helps the Hospital fund equipment and services that are not fully covered by the Ministry of Health 'such as patient care equipment, services and community education pro- grams.
