With playoffs just around the corer, B.R.'s sports teams are all play- ing hard as their regular seasons come to a close. Recently, B.R.'s Senior Boys' Basketball team face Si. Thomas Aquinas in their last game of the regular season play on Monday. The teai played well and had an exciting finish to their season. With three seconds left in the final quarter, the team trailed by two points but unfortunately missed both free throw shots that would have tied the game. The guys boast a record of seven wins and two losses, and are tied for second place as they start the playoffs. Good luck boys. The Junior Boys' Basketball team clinched a playoff berth with a convincing 73-36 win against T.A. Blakelock last Wednesday. They showed solid defense and a balanced attack, as 12 players hit the score sheet. The teain also participated in the Resurrection Invitational Tournament in Kitchener this past weekend. The boys won three of their four games, with their only loss coming in a heartbreaker to Our Lady of Lourdes from Guelph. They were then able te bounce back and win the Consolation Championships. Congratulations to Conan O' Brien for being named to the tournament's all-star team. The Midget Boys' Basketball team also defeated Blakelock last Wednesday night 43-22. The guys had outstanding performances with special mention to: Joey MacSween with 13 points and Liam Tennant with 10. The boys wrapped up their season against the undefeated St. Thomas Aquinas team on Monday. The team played hard, but fel short by a heartbreaking three points. All team members had an amaz- ing season. Last Friday, the Senior Girls' Volleyball team travelled across town te play in the E.C. Drury tournament. The team began slowly, but afiter a tough split with the high-calibre Waterloo team, the girls went on a five game streak. Their excellent teamwork and strategic play allowed for a super showing. Great job ladies. In their first home game last Thursday, the Girls' Hockey team man- aged two goals from Nicole Gooding and one from Chelsey Gruzka. Good luck in the future. With playoffs beginning shortly, we hope te see many B.R. students rooting our teams on te victory. DRURY HIGe SCHO9L Joanne Gunding Lindsey Harrold Love is in the air! Welcome back everyone to a brand new week at Drury! Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! We're loving what our sports teams accomplished this week! The first highlight came on Monday night when the Jr. Girls Volleyball team won its first and only game of the season! Never letting down their high spirits, the girls made everyone who watched the game very proud. Way to end your season on a high note girls! Continuing with Volleyball, the Sr. girls teain won its match, also held on Monday night. This keeps the team's 2nd place position in tact as it heads to quarter finals this coming Monday. Come out and support this team as it fights its way to Halton's! On Valentine's Day, the great love and support of the fans helped lead the Girls Hockey team to victory against B.R. with a final score of 8-1, this team has certainly made their mark on the ice! Moving from ice to court, the Sr. Boys Basketball team played a tough game against B.R. on Wednesday. Unfortunately the boys came up just short of a victory and lost in the quarter finals by a mere 5 points! Keeping with that 'loving feeling' Drury wrestlers held the Jr. Halton tournament yesterday. All the hard training and sweat paid off and prepared the boys for great wrestling careers to come. Way to go wrestlers! Also on Thursday the School Reach team competed in a tournament held at White Oaks, With Halton's being held next week, be sure to check up to sec how this team does! With all the love in the air, what would be a better way to end the week than with a Valentine's Semi Formai dance?! Tonight, over 200 students will be attending Drury's largest Semi Formal ever! It's sure to be lots of fun, so we'll sec you there! Keeping with the theme of love, we end this week with a quote from Mother Theresa: "If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
