December 8, 2000 - Twvo public sehool superintendents leaving Halton senior staff members departing soon to assume posts with Minstry of Education Change continues ta sweep through the Halton District School Board, with two aenior staff departing soon. Superintendents Paul Anthony and Kit Ranlcin will leave the board within the next few weeks for jobs with the Ministry of Education. Mr. Anthony, the board's head of humant reaources, has accepted a new 'poaition effective Monday. He will serve with the miniatry as director, Standards - Ontario Teacher Testing Project. 'This is an exciting opportunity and 1 ama look- ing forward ta the challenge," said Mr. Anthony. "My tome with the board hais been very rewarding and the miles 1 have held have provided me with a wealth of experience 1 hope ta be able ta apply ta my new career." The 27-year board employee has served as a superintendent for five years. Ma Rankin will become director of the curricu- lum and asseasment branch of the ministry, effec- tive January 1. Th e superintendent, a board employee since 1973, aaid she has valued her time with the Halton organization. "The experiences gained at many levels with this system have given me the grounding t need ta become an effective contrihutor ta the provincial civil service," ahe aaid. "While 1 arn looking forward ta the challenges this new oppontunity provides me, I am hopeful my new mile will also allow me ta retain a profes- sional connection with this board." Ms Rankin has heen responsible for pmogram at the board for the past eight years. The board's senior administrative structure will he re-evaluated and"new assiguiments will be announced within the next few weeks.
