News on th e Net!I Reed wonders why man doesn't llke "good news" in newsletter (The following letter is Halton MP incumbent Julian Reed's response So a letter sent to him from Fred Louka. Mr. Louka' let- ter to Mr. Reed was published in the November 14 Champion.) DearEditor: In reaponse to your e-mail dated November 5, 1 was vexy inter- ested in the comment you made about the Reed Report containing information that had been previoualy publiahed in one of out national newapapers. It makes me wonder why you don't like good newa. Information about how I'm apending my lime and your money can be found on my home page on the Internet. It containa detail of ail the work I have done both in legislative duty and outaide. You may not be aware but virtually ail my efforts outaide of leg- islative duties, both on committee and in the Houae of Commona, have been devoted to envirotrmental enhancement - something Use citizens of Halton are acutely aware of eapecially with sum- mer air quality. You mention the Human Resourcea Development Miniatry and the 'Auditor'a Report'. The auditor generai bas confired that the minister haa taken the right action and I quote, "The Department's current management is committed ta implementing corrective action. It took a number of immediate steps that sent staff a clear message that chance waa expected." In fact we bave welcomied Use auditor general'a report. His re- ommendationa are assiating us in tihe efforts ta improve Use effi- ciency and accountability of Use govemment. We began a journey together seven yeara ago. Some of the deciafons were incredibly difficult but we are now winning the economic battle and can now provide significant tax relief and a very pro-active debt reduction. So, Mr. Louka, on that basia I wish ta continue representing you and contribute ta your awareness. Indeed I will keep amiling and will proudly rebash Liberal accomplishimenta.
