vB'MXers shine in NY Milton BMX racers had swect rides recentiy in Bethel, Connecticut for the Northeast Region Championship/Yankee Nationais. Bob Rowley, Canada's only AA pro BMX racer, deiivered an amazing perfor- mance in the highest categoiy of racing in the worid. He took firat overal in the main event on Saturday at the Yankee Nationais. The goal for Àlex Brancier - a i 5-year- oid in the novice division - was to qualify through the Northeast Region Championships for the U.S. Open Invitationai on November 24 in Momistown, Tennessee. He managed t0 do that and more. Racers have to quaiify through the motos in order to make it to the main event, which Brancier did handiiy - fmnishing first, second and third. In the main event, Brancier finished fimst, eaming an automatie invitation to the U.S. Open Invitationais. He foiiowed that up with more impressive resuits in the Yankee Nationais over the next two days. He tinished second in the main event on Saturday and then had a perfect ride on Sunday, winning ail three motos and then the main event.
