The Girl's Field Hockey teamn sure did, as they went into the long weekend with a stellar victory against last year's Halton Champions, Oakville Trafalgar, Also last Thursday, the Royals Football team went head to head in a non-scoring game against Assumrption in muddy and rainy conditions. In Senior Girls Basketball, B.R. lost to White Oaks in a hard fought battle, losing 46-40. Good luck in the future girls. Meanwhile the Junior Girls Basketball team started their sea- son by winning 35-13 over White Oaks. In Senior Boys Volleyball, B.R. took a loss but were abile to fight back and win the 'last set. The Junior Boys Volleyball team also was not able to walk away with the victory when they played T.A. Blakelock. Good luck to both teams as their regular seasons continue. 'Me B.R. This past Thursday ait our annual Student Excellence Night, 150 Milton District stu- dents were recognized for achieving an average of 80 percent or higher in their pro- grains of study last year. Our guest of hon- our Ms. Catherine Rellinger, the President of Mohawk College enlightened us on her strategies for success. The evening was a lot of fun, and it turned out to be a great night. Another celebration was held at Milton District Iast Friday as the junior mustang football team beat Senator O'Connel] High School from Toronto 24-18, Congratulations! Our senior football team did not play last week but have an away game tonight against Aldershot. Good Luck! It hasn't been ail fun and games here at Milton District. On Wednesday, October Il and Thursday, October 12, 175 grade 10 students wrote the Grade 10 Test of Reading and Writing. The test was written by grade 10 students across the province for the first time this year. This five hour test will become a graduation requirement starting next year, but is not required this year as it is the first year. We hope that everyone who wrote that test did welI.
