Owners Rick & Elaine Scbaffer ran the business until August 1989. In January of 1993, tbe sbop was purcbased by Max and Anita Mangoticb. They soon relocated tbe store to a more central location downtown at 218 Main St. (next to Fîtzgeralds Insurance). Anita's diverse career includes an extensive back- ground in retail sales, including retail pbarmacy, real estate and retail mercbandising. Not one to be left sitting stili Anita also tied grapes and picked apples wbile living at Niagara-on-tbe-Lake. Helping raise their three children, Max, her hus- band of 37 years spent bis career with an interna- tional pharmaceutical company as a National Sales Manager. Max's background includes sales, market- ing, advertising and human relations. Altbough Max prefers to maintain a low public profile regarding the shop, he is involved in aIl aspects of the busi- ness. Mike is our resident goldsmith and has been involved with the business since 1989. Mike does most repairs on the premises and also creates "1one of a kind" pieces for any special occasion on request. Mike bas completed numerous jewellery programs and is presently working on his certification as a gemologist. Susan McDermott bas been with the store since 1994. She has a vast backgrouand in retail baving been with Sears for 1l years witb part of that time as Assistant Manager. Karina Cockbum-Swance joined us in 1997. She bolds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and further upgraded ber skills by attaining her diploma in laboratory technician from Sheridan College. Karina has left us to take a job in her field. We ail wisb her much success.
