Milton's lone provincial track and field representative - com- peting in the senior girls division - was a litsle off her Southem Regional winning mark of 11.10 metres, reaching juat 10.90m and being bumped from the event finals by the slightest of mar- gins at Lasalle's Sandwich High School. The Milton District Mustang's top 10 finish came in an extremely compesitive field, in which the overaîl winner - Colleen Ramharak of Oakwood - sets new national record with a leap of 12.25m. "My placing waa okay, but I was hoping tojump a litsle better," aaid 18-year-old Turner. "But I guesa there's always next year. Tumer's best triple jump remains an I l.23m, which she posted two years ago at the provincials - when she took fsfth among junior girls. Golden girl Brookville's Jamie Greenfield proved so be a triple threat as Thursday's Collier Trsck and Field Meet at Nelson Stadium in Burlington. The junior girls competitor outahone her competitors in three separase events - winning the 400m (1.11.54), and l,500m (5:46.46) races an well as the triple jump (7.80m). Fellow Bengal Karen Doering waa a double gold medalist among the senior girls. She handily won the long jump with a 3.79m leap and souk top spot in the triple jump with an 8.46m performance. Gold, silver and bronze rained down for intermediate maie Bengal Andrew Basso. His efforts in the long jump (4.50m), 200m (28.58) and high jump (I .40m) weoe good enough for firat, second and third oespectively. Senior boys competitor Fraser MeGaffin won the 800m in 2:38.67 and secured silver in the shot-put, hurling flic iphere 10.20m. Bmokville's other multi-medal winner waa intermediate girls representative Sarali Chrsstnik.
