Members of the Halton Regional Police Dmug and Moralily Bureau and Canada Customs Dog Detector Service conducted locker searches May 8 at Bishop Reding Secondary School on Main Street as well as T.A. Blakelock High School in Oakville. "It's a message to, the students that druga won't be tolerated on school property," said Det. Scott Mason. "It's a message the school admidnistration senda to the students." A handier walked thmough the halls of the schools with a drug detector dog. If' the dog detects drugs in a student's locker, it wiil be opened and a search conducted. If a drug is discovered, an investigation will be launched and appropniate action will be taken. So far, 10 schoola - încluding the Emest C. Drury School for the Deaf - have been searched during this school year.
