Drury High Sehool has an international visitor among its stu- 'dent body. The Rotary Club of Milton is bosting Swantje Siepman, a high school student from Hanover, Germany. Staying with tbree bost famulies, Ms Siepman is spending a year in Milton. She wilI return to, Germany in August, taking with her the experiences of life in Canada. Ms Siepman is participating in the academic and social aspects of the school in hopes of honing ber skilis for a career in the media. She said she's enjoying ber stay in Milton. According to Carolyn Keywortb, president of the Rotary Club in Milton, students are chosen initially by an application proceas. "A letter is sens out by the Rotary Club to tbe local achools. Interested students can tben aign up, and upon being selected as a candi- date, they must meet several requirements sucb as maturity and academic excellence." The excbange process is quite similar in internation- al countries as wcll. "I like Canada a lot," said Ms Seipman wben asked of ber experiencc bere thus far. "There are a lot of differences, but 1 am getting use to tbem." Witb living life for a ycar in another country, the culture and lifestyle can cause major sbock. "There is not mucb frecdom bere," said Ms Seipman on the differences in lifestyles. "We arc forced to, follow tbe five Ds - no drinking, no drtving, no drugs, no datusg and no do-it-yourself travel.
