Police are investigating the inci- dent that occurred at about 2:25 p.m. at Margaret and Martin streets. The fire departmnent, Halton police as well as the Envîronmental Spili Team responded. Police said a piece of metal was deliberately set in between the south tracks at about an eighth of a mile west of the Go station. The leak was caused when the train went over the metal. Police are treating the incident as a possible crimdial act. People with information about this incident are asked to caîl Crime Stoppera at 825-TIFS. Drugs found in dlothing A man who allegedly brought clothing pseked with marijuana to an inmate at Maplehurat Correctional Complex was charged with possession of a controlled substance Thuraday at 2 p.m. Guards, who search everything that cornes into the jail, were checking clothing when they dis- covered two bags of marijuana. Police Blotter A Georgetown resident was arresteti and charged with posses- sion of a controlled substance. He will appear in Milton court March 13. School vandalized A window at Sam Sherratt School on Laurier Avenue was smashed last Friday at about 11:47 p.m. The damage is estimated at $400. Witnesses saw a youth in a red, white and blue jacket fleeing from the area. Thief at library A video or book was stolen from the Milton Public Library last Friday. At about 1:30 p.m., a man con- cealled a book or video by bis aide and went throuigh the security sys- temr. An alarm was triggered and the suspect was confronted by an employee. He fled before police aerived. Police are looking for a white maie, five-foot-five to five-foot- seven with a stocky buîid. He waa in bis late teens or early Mwenties, with short, sandy blond hair. He was wearing a three-quaeter length denim jacket and a basebail cap. Thefts front cars Money and a camera were stolen from a vehicle at Burns Conservation Area Saturday between 1 and 1:30 p.m. Thieves smashed the driversa side window of a red 1998 Pontiac van and stole about $150 worth of cash, identifi- cation and $150 camera. About $500 damage was caused to the vehicle. *A purse was atolen from a vehi- Cie parked at Rattîcanake Point Conservation Area Saturday sorte- time between 1l a.m. and 1: 15 p.m. The thief removed the driver's aide window of a 1999 red Plymouth van without breaing the glass.
