We would like to extend thanks 10 Erin Walsh and Adam Finkbeiner for doing such a great job organizing the event. As well, a thanks goes out to the decorat- ing committee and anyone who contributed door prizes. Next up wr would like te, make mention of ail of the local entrepreneurs who came to, M.D. as guest speakers for iast semesters Entrepreneurship class. Students found it exciting to hear about different career paths and to, receive advice about operating your own business. Mrs. O'Reilly and the Entrepreneurship clasa would like to extend their gratitude to: Bryan Lewis, head of NHL referees; Mrs. Laura Hughes, Springridge Farm; Edwyna Doddington, Safe & Sound Daycare and Milton Heights Academy; Mark Burger, Boardtopia; George Tonis, A-I Skateboards; Melissa deBrouwer, Bick Financial Security Corp.; former M.D. stu- dent Allait Booth, AICE Imports; Ed Stavnitzky, M.D. teacher and spartment owner/landlord; Mr. Rick Block, Buriington Door Centre; Lyle Somers, Hartland Mortgage Broker and Mr. Newson, Emmite Drumsticks. Each speaker brought different light to the worid of entrepreneurship. An invite is extended to any local entrepreneurs who wouid like to come in and speak 10 the semester two class about their experiences, juat contact Mrs. O'Reiliy at the school. In support of this years upeoming musical, "Mhe Music Mans", the grade twelve entrepreneurship ciasa wiii be going out into the community in the near future to gather sponsorship ads froru local businesses. Ada will be piaced on the edges of posters, in the program, and in store fronts in the set itself. As weli, the grade ten keyboarding ciass wiii be having a competi- lion to soc who can create the best ticket and school advertising designs. The winners will receive free passes to the play. Good luck! The M.D.H.S. Cheerleaders recentiy competed in the Halton competitios. There was vcry stiff competition with eight teama competing this year, but with great effort and enthusiasm they managed to corne in a very close second behind T.A. Blakeiock. The very next day the cheerleaders competed in a fun competition heid in Woodstock. Again they fouind theru- selves up againat somte very strong tearus, but were able to come in fifth out of the thirtocn teama competing. Great job! EC Drury joined in many Valentine festivities tbis week, On Tuesday, the locker bay was bustling as students gathered round t0 watch and participate in the Dating Game, a promotion for the Semi-formal that is being held tonight at the Halton his place. Thanks t0 the Student Council this event proved 10 be a matchmaking success. Speaking of matchmakers, Drury students filled out forms regarding their inter- ests and are keenly waiting the resuits to determine their perfect match. Certainly Valentine fun has lived up to Drury this week allowing everyone 10 partici- pale in interesting events. Drury's sports building bas been a very likely place this week but flot with Valentine's events. On Thursday, the Halton Wrestling toumnament was held at Drury and many Drury wrestlers did exceptionally well. A big thank you goes ouI 10 everyone who helped 10 make tbe tournament mun smootbly. Good job guys; Drury is proud! The ski team is another group that Dmury is proud of. Mat Yorke, Curtis JanCube and Rory Dick did excep- tionally well qualifying for OFFSA. Congratulations on such a great success! A big congratulations also goes out 10 the senior girls volleyball team for playing s0 well Ibis season. They have only lost once so far and Drury is truly proud of them. The girls are showing tbeir stuff aI the volleyball toumnament, wbicb is being beld in Drury's own gym today and Iomorrow.
