The Oakville Children's Choir recently held a concert for its male singing group A Few Good Men at St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church. Sean Reyes wins for best rock video at indie music awards in Hollywood Oakville singer/songwriter Sean Reyes picked up the Best Rock Video of the Year award at the 2013 Indie Music Channel Awards held in Los Angeles. The awards were held late last month. The local musician won the award for his music video Just Another. "It is always an honour just to be nominated for the IMC Awards, but to win is even sweeter," Ryes said, in a news release. The musician had a difficult journey leading up to this award win. In 2009, he was attacked by a stranger while he was out celebrating his birthday with friends. He was rushed to hospital and his family was told by doctors he might not survive the night. Since the beating, he has undergone nine brain and head surgeries. "It has been a long, hard road, very long and very hard. But I feel that I have been blessed with a second chance at life for a reason ­ to share my message and my music," he said.
