The media tends to concentrate on tbe shortcomings of our military such as its out-dated equipment, limited strength, etc. We were able to meet face to face with several men and women who are our military. Despite equipment sbortages and reduced budgets tbey are performing a first class job in providing emergency services at home (flooding, ice storms) or abroad (Kosovo, Bosnia, Cyprus, etc.) Their lives are constantly at risk in war ravaged areas because of bidden mines, unstable foreign military and tbe like. Yet they are dedicated to serving the local area to bring relief and stability under war-like conditions. Each person we spoke to bad an uncompromising dedication to their job, an optimistic attitude regardless of the shortfalls they face as noted and a real pride for serving our country. It is no wonder tbat Canada is so well respected around tbe world - our military. forces are outstanding! If you get a chance, talk to tbem, tbey are some of the best ambassadors that Canada bas!
