"Our revamped website New HHS website accessible with more to offer mirrors the dynamic growth that is taking place at our three hospitals," John Oliver, president and CEO of HHS, said in a press release. "It's been some years since our site was updated. Since then some new, exciting technologies have come along that we wanted to bring to our community." The revamped website, www.haltonhealthcare.com, will now offer the following sections: About Halton Healthcare; Patients and Visitors; Programs & Services; Quality & Patient Safety; Become A Volunteer; Career Opportunities; Library; and Contact Us. It will also feature a calendar of events, the ability to sign up for a monthly e-newsletter and provide access to the HHS Twitter and Facebook pages. Visitors to the website will also have access to the Google translation tool, which provides a `machine' translation of any HTML text online in 63 languages. "The new website is mobile friendly and is now easy to read and navigate through when accessed through other technology," stated the release. "It also adheres to the Website Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), providing an enhanced online experience for those with disabilities." Others new features planned for the website are: pay a bill online; patient e-cards, RRS feeds, virtual tours and videos. Town is seeking public input on its new zoning bylaw The Town of Oakville is putting together a new zoning bylaw, which will help determine how Oakville develops in the future, and it wants resident feedback. Eleven open houses are scheduled to run between May 22 and June 6, offering residents and businesses an opportunity to review the current draft bylaw, ask questions, and submit comments before the next draft goes to council in the fall. Residents will also have the chance to comment at that fall council meeting. "A zoning bylaw is the most important part of putting the principles and policies of an Official Plan into practice," said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton. "The new zoning bylaw is a critical element in the implementation of the Livable Oakville Plan, which shapes how Oakville will develop in the future."
