Tbat's where the Campbellville painter finds herseif these days - on stage creating ber works alongside two dancers and another artist to the music of four band members in Tribe of One. The Winnipeg-based group recruited Ms Newlove, 25, to, the band after perusing lier funky paintings of fish, birds and trees duning a visat to, Toronto in 1997. The end resuit was professional artists, dancers and musicians bringing forth an artistic three-ring circus. The live mix of mediums is key to the group's pur- pose, Ms Newlove says, and well-received by audi- ences. "A lot of people have juat feit inspired by the idea that ail the arts are as important as the otber," she says. "Each part is integral to the whole thing." Dancing on canvass While the dancers capture the rhythm of the music with movement, Ms Newlove dances in bier own way on canvass. One of ber paintinga sold to an audience member for $200, recalis the former Milton District Higli School student. "People really get into the whole idea and they want a pars of the night," she says.
