Acting Sgt. Dave Eakins was driving westbound on Denry Road shortly after 3:30 arn. May 26 when hie noticed a van parked near the rear of the commercial complex. As the officer approached the scene, two male suspecta fled the building and ran into a field, said Det. Sgt. Jackie Gordon of Halton Regional Police. However, police believe the suspects stole a car from a Tremaine Road residence to make their escape. A 1989 Chevrolet was reported stolen within an hour after the suspects fled. About $6,000 worth of property from the building was seized from thse van along with several other items that police believe were stolen from other locations, Det. Sgt. Gordon said. 'The main thrust of what they were after was computer equip- ment," she said. Some cash was also taken. Six businesses in the complex located beside Milton District Hospital were broken into, she said. They included the Derry Dispensary, Milton Physiotherapy, The Feminine Way and sever- aI doctors' offices. The investigation continues.
