First of ail, Student Council elections, where ail executive positions wl! be filled are going ta be held on June 1. We are alsa nearing the lime for next year's Prefects ta be chasen. It is a great organiza- tion and ail you have ta do is fil! out an application and have twa teachers sign it ta be considered. For this year's graduating students, Grad Night at Canada's Wanderland is caming up shortly. Anyone who has signed up but not yet brought in their maney shauld do so in the near future. There are only a few spots ieft, so, if anyane wants ta sign Up it will be a biast! Its anly $38 for admission and the bus ride. Students wilf also receive an eight dollar food voucher for the park. Anyone that participated in the 30 hour famine and ha not braught in their piedge money should do so A.S.A.P. it can be given ta Erin Walsh or handed in at the main office. The Walk Against Maie Violence is coming up on May 21 sa don't farget ta sign up and start getting pledges. It is being held in Toronto this year. The sign up sheet is in the main office or you can see Mr. Hamilton for details. This year's grade 10 enriched Engiish class w!!! be putting an the annuai "parodies for charities'. They will be selling tickets ta watch their parodies for $1 each. The maney wili go ta the "Help the Kids Fund", a charity arganized by the Toronto Sun for the refugee chiidren of Kosovo. The parodies wiil be heid an april 30, May 3 and May 4. Sa came an out and have a laugh whiie supporting a good cause. Mrs. 0'Reilly and the MDHS cheerleaders would like ta thank the cammunity for their support. They have been caiiecting A&P receipts for one year now and have managed to collect $114.000 in receipts tram the community. We've got a lot ta report this week sa we won't waste any lime in getting startedl We'd like ta start off this week by recognizing and congratulating March's Student of the Month. The worthy honouree is OAC student, Justin Darbyson-Biilingham. Justin is a soid student who, when he's flot busy honing his art skilîs or travelling with the wreslling team, can be found helping ouf in period 5 art ciass. Congratulations again Justin, everyone at Drury is proud af your accompiishments. Just as Justin was nominated for this award by his peers, sa were this year's graduating ciasa vale- dictorian nominees. Seven senior students are currenly in contention for this honour and we wiii hear trom ail of themn next week as la why they think lhey wouid be the best representative for the Class ai 'gg. Speeches wiii be made on Tuesday, May 4th and vating wiii take place on the morning af Wednesday, May 5th. The resufis wiii be announced laler Ihal alternoon and we wish al nominated students the best af iuck. For the past month or sa the grade il drama, music and Engiish studenîs have been working hard on the Miiiennium Projeci. Sfudents are compieting projecta based on enviranmentai issues such as the deveiopmenf ai land, waler pollution and transportation. The goal af the Miliennium Projecf is for students ta try and find solutions ta probiema whiie making Clhers aware ai the issues ai the same lime. The students' hard work wiii be on dispiay today, Friday, April 30 during the day ai the Milton Mail and we encourage everyone to go and take a look at some of the amnazing stuff that has been done.
