Oakville now home to two schools with similar names There will now be two Holy Trinity high schools in town. The local Catholic French school board (Conseil scolaire de district catholique CentreSud (CSDCCS)) has named its newest Halton high school, located in Oakville, École secondaire catholique Sainte-Trinité. Sainte-Trinité translates to Holy Trinity in English. The local English-language Catholic school board already operates its Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School in north Oakville, less than 8 km away from the new French school. "By choosing the name Holy Trinity, we want WITH THIS COUPON 13 | Thursday, May 2, 2013 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com to express the deepest and most profound aspirations of the human heart," said CSDCSS chair Nathalie Dufour-Séguin, in a news release. "We are being called on to aim for perfection, the perfection we find in God. At our level, this means we must ensure that each person, each student becomes the best possible person. Such is the great aspiration of French Catholic education in Ontario." Sainte-Trinité will open as a Grades 7-9 school in September. It is located at 2600 Grand Oak Trail. The board said the new school will offer spacious and modern facilities to its students. Claire Lapierre is principal of the new school. "The school will meet the needs of families in a region where the number of Francophones is rapidly increasing," said Halton trustee for CSDCCS Dominique Janssens, in the release. "I want to thank parents and community members who actively took part in the consultation process to officially designate this school and who are already contributing in molding this new community." "The Holy Trinity is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who watch over us," said CSDCCS Director of Education, Réjean Sirois, in the release. "This is what students will feel in this new school. They will know they are being guided in their academic development to achieve success and growth in every dimension of their lives. To accomplish this, the school will rely not only on a professional and dedicated staff, but also on the latest technological advances to support learning." CSDCCS operates schools in south-central and south-western Ontario, providing education to more than 23,500 elementary and secondary students. For more information, visit www.csdccs.edu. on.ca.
